A lovely fictional story of how a lonely, troubled, young city
girl found faith, devotion, happiness and her vocation through a
tree house, Mary Garden, artifacts and scripture during a summer's
country visit with her grandmother.

Includes the laying out of a Mary Garden, a list of its Flowers of
Our Lady, the sowing of its seeds and their germination; with a
discussion of the symbolism of some its flowers in bloom.

Twelve beautifully illuminative paintings of the Flowers of Our
Lady separate the chapters.  Other illustrations include an
especially lovely painting of the Marian Grotto.

                                  The Healing Tree...

     Young Rose's life was engulfed in lonesomeness. Her mother
had always been distant, and her father died when she was just
born. Left to spend a summer at her grandmother's house, Rose
receives the nurturing and guidance she needs from her grandmother
and a young boy who takes care of the garden.

     She draws closer to God in prayer and by studying scripture
and a book of spiritual meditations and drawings made by her
father. When she discovers a carving he made in a great tree
representing the heart of Christ on the cross, Rose comes to know
that she is truly, intimately and totally wanted by the loving God
who created her, died for her and is always with her.

     She changes from an anxious, fearful child into one who finds
confidence, courage and trust in God, herself becoming like a tree
drinking of the water of life and bearing good fruit.

     Her prayers help in bringing about the healing of her mother.
She helps to build a grotto and plant a Mary's Garden that will
touch countless future generations and help many souls discover
the great treasure she has found.

     Rose fully lives God's promise that those who seek Him shall
find Him. She finally grasps that which has always troubled her,
the meaning of suffering in her life as it is transformed into
glory within the healing tree of the cross of Christ.
